October

October:
Literally thee best month
leaves, cider, blue skies, birthdays, crisp air, pumpkins, halloween, and just a sense of festive-ness in the air. Am I right??

Ha ha really though, this month has been great so far.  My birthday was on the fifth and it was so great! My birthday is always the same week of general conference which is nice because there is always at least something planned.  Saturday the 4th I went shopping with Karen, Chantel and Bella at farmington station then we met up with Dad and Nic for dinner at Habit Burger which was delicious.

Then Sunday morning I woke up to some amazing gifts from my amazing husband :)  He got me the CUTEST sleep shirt from Victoria's Secret, some of my favorite candies, and the sweetest card! I even cried when I read it (ha ha sweetest husband + pregnancy = tears) I gave him a hugged and thanked him and then he said "there is still something in there" I looked and looked and didn't see anything! He had hid an amex gift card under the lining of the bag with a sticky note that said "only to be used on your camera!"  I was shocked!! I had told Elias that I wanted a DSLR camera for my birthday awhile back and then I changed my mind and told him it can wait till Christmas because they are so expensive and we had other things we needed.  But Elias that sly dog of course had a trick up his sleeve.  He received a gift card from his work for referring a friend for a job opening and he told me that it was just $100 but it was really $500!! Isn't he the sweetest for using it on me???

Anyway, after that perfect morning we went to the Green's for brunch, where they sang happy birthday to me and I got a few gifts.  Summer gave me one of her adorable aztec sweaters that she sells and then a baby outfit and some lavender baby moccasins that I am obsessed with! I will post them with all of the new things I have for baby green. Then after brunch Graham was ordained an elder which was really special.

Then that night we went to dinner at my parents; I requested tortellini with orange sauce (marinara+alfredo), Olive dip and an iceberg salad it was an amazing dinner!! Then of course my grandma made dessert, I normally always request pumpkin cheese cake but this year I asked for caramel apple pie and pumpkin squares :)

I think this pie is my new go-to!

Fast forward a few weeks and here we are!  The leaves are changing all over, one of my favorite things about our neighborhood is that it is so old that there are tons of huge trees, that are just gorrrrgeous right now!  So the other day I just felt like I needed to get out and I went on a walk.  Well I can never just walk, so of course 5 minutes into my walk I started running!! It felt incredible :) I ended up running a little over a mile in intervals and felt on top of the world when I got home (although my stomach muscles felt pretty weird since they aren't used to running with that weight!) But it just reminded me why I love running so much and I kept thinking "why the heck haven't I been doing this more??)

My shadow looked like the grinch!

The view of my running shoes looks a little different these days!

As of today, Elias is out of town for work and so I have been doing a few projects around the house that I am going to post about later this week!  But one thing I did is mow the lawn.

While mowing the lawn I looked at the stripes I was making and I was thinking "this is probably the last time i'll mow the lawn this year, I have to document it" So mid line I ran inside to grab my new camera and take started taking a few pictures.

One of the biggest reasons I love mowing the lawn is that you see the progress; see my lines? I also love that you get to just tune out or listen to music.  Today I didn't listen to any music and just admired my cute little pumpkins, my new fall decoration that is hung on the door ($5.99 at Joann's) and our changing tree!

So although this post was pretty random, I felt all of these things should be documented!  SO HAPPY OCTOBER! and yes I spelled cider wrong on my chalkboard.. embarrassing I know
